[Photos] Man Utd Handed Double Injury Boost As Duo Train Ahead Of Fenerbache Game
Manchester United have received a double injury boost with two players taking part in training ahead of Thursday night’s Europa League clash with Fenerbache.
Manchester United have received a double injury boost with Anthony Martial and Morgan Schneiderlin taking part in training today ahead of Thursday night’s Europa League clash with Fenerbache.
Martial was expected to feature at Anfield on Monday night after coming off the bench to score against Stoke earlier this month but the French international was forced to miss the trip to Merseyside after picking up a knee injury in training.
However, the attacker now looks set to return for tomorrow night’s visit of Fenerbache to Old Trafford after taking part in training with the rest of the first team squad at Carrington this afternoon.
Schneiderlin also missed the bore 0-0 draw with Liverpool on Monday after suffering a knock in training over the weekend but the Frenchman was also able to take part in training today which should put him in the frame to feature tomorrow night.
The former Southampton midfielder has struggled to establish himself as a regular this season following the arrival of Paul Pogba but with Jose Mourinho expected to shuffle his pack ahead of Sunday’s trip to Chelsea, Schneiderlin could be given a chance to impress in Europe.
Wayne Rooney is also expected to be recalled to the starting eleven after being left on the bench at Anfield while the likes of Marcos Rojo, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are also pushing for starts.
United head in to the game on Thursday sitting third in Group A following their win over Zorya Luhansk last time out so they’ll be looking to move in to the qualification places with a win over leaders Fenerbache tomorrow.
