Some of the Liverpool players have been celebrating on social media after booking their place in the quarter finals of the EFL Cup thanks to a 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Tuesday night.
Jurgen Klopp made several changes to his starting eleven in order to give some of his squad players a chance to impress and it’s safe to say Daniel Sturridge took his opportunity with both hands.
The England international opened the scoring inside the first ten minutes with a close range finish before racing clear to slot home and double Liverpool’s lead midway through the second half.
Spurs pulled one back from the penalty spot but the Merseysiders held on to secure a 2-1 victory that sees them book their place in the quarter final draw, which takes place later tonight.
Some of the Liverpool players have now been reacting to the result on social media with Man of the Match Sturridge taking to Instagram to upload a couple of photos and messages while Simon Mignolet, Gini Wijnaldum, Divock Origi and Roberto Firmino have also posted messages to their followers on Twitter.
