[Photo] Arsenal Duo Set To Miss Ludogorets After Missing Training + Walcott Update

Santi Cazorla and Nacho Monreal are set to miss Arsenal’s Champions League clash with Ludogorets after failing to train today while Theo Walcott remains a major doubt for the game after training away from the rest of the squad.

Cazorla has sat out the last three games after picking up an achilles injury during our 6-0 win over Ludogorets earlier this month and is expected to miss the return leg in Bulgaria on Tuesday night after failing to appear for training today.

Monreal has also missed the last two games against Reading and Sunderland after suffering a minor muscle injury last week and Arsene Wenger had hoped the full-back would be fit for the trip to Ludogorets tomorrow night.

However, the Spaniard was also missing from training today meaning he’s highly unlikely to feature against the Bulgarian champions, so Kieran Gibbs is on stand-by to start his third consecutive game at left-back.

Walcott has missed the last two matches with a hamstring problem but has been spotted training on his own away from the rest of the first team squad at London Colney today.

With our huge north London derby against Tottenham coming up on Sunday, it’s likely to that Walcott won’t be risked against Ludogorets but we’ll have to wait and see what Wenger says at his press conference later today.

I personally hope we don’t risk any of Cazorla, Monreal or Walcott against Ludogorets as the Spurs game has to be the priority. We’re well placed in the Champions League group and our squad is more than capable of bringing home the three points without them.

***UPDATE*** Walcott did eventually join in training with the rest of the squad so it looks like he may have passed a fitness test and could now be in contention to face Ludogorets. However, I still wouldn’t risk him from the start.
