[Photos] Man Utd Boost As Trio Train With First Team Ahead Of Fenerbahce Clash

Wayne Rooney, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Henrik Mkhitaryan all trained with the Manchester United first team squad today ahead of their trip to Fenerbahce later this week.

The big news is that Schweinsteiger’s exile from the first team set-up appears to be over after the German World Cup winner was invited back to train with the first team squad at Carrington today.

Schweinsteiger has been training on his own and with the under-23’s since Jose Mourinho banished the former Bayern Munich midfielder from the first team earlier this year.

However, the ‘Special One’ seems to have had a change of heart as the 32-year-old was allowed back to train with the first team today as he looks to try and force his way back in to Mourinho’s plans.

Rooney made a successful return to action with a late cameo appearance during United”s hugely frustrating 0-0 draw with Burnley on Saturday afternoon having missed the previous two games with a muscle injury.

The skipper appears to have suffered no reaction to his 20 minute run-out at the weekend as he was out on the training pitches with the rest of the squad today preparing for Thursday’s Europa League clash.

Mkhitaryan has also been snapped in training today as he looks to build on his fitness and work his way back in to Mourinho’s first team plans after being left out of the squad in recent weeks.

The Armenian international hasn’t featured since suffering a thigh injury in early September and Mourinho has suggested the playmaker needs time to get used to English football and work on his fitness before he’ll be back in the first team fold.

We’ll have to wait and see whether Mkhitaryan does enough in training over the coming days to persuade Mourinho he’s ready to play some part against Fenerbahce on Thursday night as United head to Turkey looking to take another step closer to securing their place in the knockout stages of the Europa League.
