Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a major boost ahead of this weekend’s North London Derby as Harry Kane has returned to training today.
The England international has been on the sidelines for the last six weeks after suffering ankle ligament damage during Spurs 1-0 win over Sunderland back in September.
The 23-year-old resumed light training on his own last week and has stepped-up his rehabilitation even further today after rejoining the rest of the squad in training.
Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Kane won’t feature in the Champions League against Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday night as he will only have got one session under his belt.
However, the Mirror claim that Kane is now in contention for Tottenham’s trip to the Emirates to take on Arsenal on Sunday – although the chances are the striker will only be named on the bench.
Even to have Kane as a substitute will be a huge boost for Spurs as he’s been sorely missed with Vincent Janssen struggling to fill his shoes through the middle having scored just one Premier League goal.
Toby Alderweireld was also back on the training pitch today as he looks to try and recover from a knee injury but the defender is still working on his own away from the main squad and is facing a fight to be fit for the Arsenal game.
