[Tweet] Arsenal Star Delivers Timely Boost With Positive Injury Update

Arsenal have been handed a timely injury boost after Lucas Perez took to Twitter to share some positive news regarding his recovery from an ankle injury with the striker set for a swift return to action.

Perez has been on the sidelines since suffering ankle ligament damage during our 2-0 EFL Cup win over Reading at the Emirates on the 25th October after being on the wrong end of a hefty challenge from Danzell Gravenberch.

The Spanish hitman was ruled out for around six to eight weeks meaning he wasn’t expected to return until the start of December at the earliest, however, it looks as though he’s on course to making a speedy recovery.

Perez took to Twitter last night to tell his followers that he’s already back on the training pitch and  is ‘on track for an early recovery’ with the striker also uploading a video of him performing training drills.

The 28-year-old posted:

Perez doesn’t give any indication as to when he’ll be available for selection but it looks as though he’s well on track to making a return to action, which will come as a welcome boost to Arsene Wenger.

The boss is currently sweating over the fitness of star striker Alexis Sanchez after he suffered a hamstring injury while away on international duty with the Chile squad earlier this week.

Olivier Giroud is back from his toe injury but is still not 100% fit so if Sanchez is ruled out for a significant period of time, then the door will be open for Perez to finally make an impact on the first team if he can get himself fit anytime soon.

The striker has struggled to get regular game time since joining the club from Deportivo La Coruna in the summer with the majority of his appearances coming in the cups but Perez could be a useful player to have available ahead of a hectic part of the season.
