Man Utd Star Set To Make Surprise Injury Comeback Against Arsenal
Manchester United have been handed a timely injury boost with the news that a key player is set to make a shock comeback against Arsenal on Saturday.
Manchester United have been handed a timely injury boost with the news that Antonio Valencia is set for a swift return to action and could even make his comeback against Arsenal on Saturday, according to the Daily Mail.
Valencia has been on the sidelines since fracturing his arm during United’s EFL Cup win over Manchester City on October 27th and was initially ruled out for at least a month after undergoing surgery.
The 31-year-old has sat out the past three matches with Matteo Darmian filling in at right-back against Burnley, Fenerbahce and Swansea and Valencia wasn’t expected to return until around the start of December.
However, it looks as though the Ecuadorian international is set to make a surprisingly swift return to action as the Daily Mail are reporting that he’s on course to making his comeback just three weeks after sustaining the fracture.
The newspaper says that Valencia has made remarkable progress in his recovery over the past two weeks and is now set to make his return when Arsenal arrive at Old Trafford on Saturday lunchtime.
The news will come as a huge boost to Jose Mourinho as United will continue to be without Eric Bailly for the foreseeable future while Chris Smalling is also facing some time on the treatment table with a broken toe.
Valencia has been in excellent form for United so far this season with the versatile full-back becoming a key player for the Portuguese coach having made 11 appearances in all competitions before his injury.
