West Ham vs Arsenal Preview, Team News, Line-Ups, Betting Tips & Predicted Score
Arsenal take on West Ham at the London Stadium on Saturday evening. Here is a preview with team news, line-ups, betting tips and predicted score.
Arsenal will be looking to keep pace with the Premier League leaders when we take on West Ham at the London Stadium on Saturday evening.
Last weekend’s 3-1 victory over Bournemouth ended a run of three consecutive draws and saw us not only go four points clear of fifth-placed Tottenham but we also remain three points adrift of leaders Chelsea.
With Antonio Conte’s men facing a tough trip to third-placed Manchester City tomorrow we have to take advantage of at least one of our nearest rivals dropping points by picking up a win at West Ham.
However, we’ll have to play a lot better than we did in midweek as a much-changed side crashed out of the EFL Cup thanks to an extremely disappointing performance against Southampton at the Emirates.
The good news is that the Hammers haven’t been playing well themselves as they are win-less in four and currently sit 16th in the table following a fortunate 1-1 draw at Manchester United last weekend.
Slaven Bilic’s side were back at Old Trafford again in the League Cup in midweek and this time they were comfortably beaten 4-1 so they’ll be looking to get their season back on track tomorrow evening.
Team news
Olivier Giroud is a major doubt for the game as he continues to nurse a groin injury that he picked up against Bournemouth last weekend but the Frenchman is expected to be back for the Champions League trip to Basel on Tuesday.
Mathieu Debuchy has been ruled out for six weeks with a hamstring injury so with Hector Bellerin still out with an ankle problem, Carl Jenkinson could retain his place at right-back.
Santi Cazorla has been cruelly ruled out for at least two months after being told he’ll need surgery on an Achilles injury while Mohamed Elneny will face a late fitness test after being forced off with sickness in midweek.
Danny Welbeck is back in training but isn’t going to be available for another four weeks as he looks to build on his match fitness so he remains out along with Per Mertesacker.
Several of our big guns are set to return with Petr Cech, Shkodran Mustafi, Laurent Koscielny, Theo Walcott, Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez all expected to start after being rested in midweek.
West Ham welcome Andy Carroll back in to the squad and although Bilic says the striker isn’t ready to play the full ninety minutes, he will be available to make an impact off the bench.
Full-backs Aaron Cresswell and Michail Antonio are both set to miss out after suffering injuries in midweek while Andrew Ayew is also a major doubt for the game and Diafra Sakho has been ruled out until the New Year.
Likely Line-Ups
Predicted Score
West Ham 1-2 Arsenal: The Hammers have struggled to settle at the London Stadium following their move from Upton Park in the summer so this gives us a good chance to continue our recent good form away to West Ham having not lost on the road to our London rivals on our last eight visits. We haven’t been on top form of late but I fancy us to win this game and take home all three points.

- Walcott to score first in a 2-1 Arsenal win at 25/1 – a £10 bet would return £260
