Liverpool Boss To Make Surprise Team Selection Decision Against Tottenham

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is being tipped to make a shock decision by leaving Adam Lallana out of his starting eleven for Saturday’s showdown with Tottenham, according to talkSPORT.
Lallana has been a vital part of Klopp’s side so far this season with the England international starting in 20 of their 24 Premier League games so far this campaign.
However, talkSPORT co-host Micky Quinn claims that Lallana hasn’t been involved in tactical training sessions at Melwood this week where Klopp has been devising a plan to beat Spurs this weekend.
Liverpool head in to the game off the back of a poor run of form that’s seen them crash out of both domestic cups while they are now well off the pace in the title race in fifth position so it looks as though Klopp is ready to mix things up to try and rejuvenate their season.
Quinn claims that the German coach has read his players the riot act this week and has been doing training sessions specifically focussed on beating Spurs, but Lallana seemingly wasn’t involved.
The life-long Liverpool fans and former Newcastle striker is quoted as saying by talkSPORT:
“The more I think about the game the more important it is for Liverpool – they haven’t won in the Premier League this year.
“It’s a massive game for both teams and I think this is Jurgen Klopp’s biggest test since he’s been Liverpool manager.
“Klopp has read this Liverpool team the riot act. Since the defeat against Hull they have been on the training ground every day working to a pattern to beat Spurs.
“By all accounts that didn’t involve Adam Lallana, so whether he’s going to dropped, I’m not too sure.
“But I think Klopp is as much to blame as the players. He’s stuck with certain players who are bang out of form – Firmino, Lucas and Can.”
It remains to be seen whether Lallana has simply picked up a knock and is a doubt for the Spurs game but Quinn appears to suggest he’s set to be dropped for this crucial game on Saturday evening.
That would come as a major shock as the 28-year-old has been an integral part of the team and although Lallana may not have been at his very best of late, he’s been nowhere near Liverpool’s worst player during their recent poor run.
However, if Klopp has decided to drop the former Southampton star then we could see Emre Can and Gini Wijnaldum line-up alongside Jordan Henderson in midfield on Saturday with Sadio Mane, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino starting in attack.
