Insider Confirms Arsenal & Man Utd Talks Over Deal For Brazilian Star
Fabinho’s father has revealed that Arsenal and Manchester United are among the clubs who’ve held talks over a potential deal to sign the Monaco star.
The January transfer window is now closed but we can still look at deals that failed to get across the line and those being lined-up for the summer. Today, Fabinho is in demand….
Fabinho’s father has revealed that Arsenal and Manchester United are among the clubs who’ve held talks over a potential deal to sign the Monaco star, according to the Mirror.
Fabinho developed in to one of the best attacking full-backs in French football after joining Monaco in 2013 and was strongly linked with a move to the Premier League last summer.
A switch failed to materialise and the 23-year-old ended up signing a new two-year contract extension at the Stade Louis II, tying him to the club until 2021.
However, the Brazilian international has continued to produce some excellent form this season after being switched to a defensive midfield role, with Fabinho helping Leonardo Jardim’s side maintain their position at the top of the Ligue 1 table.
It’s led to fresh speculation that the South American could be on the move this summer and the players father has now revealed that they’ve held talks with a number of top European clubs.
Joao Roberto Tavares named Arsenal and Man Utd as being among the clubs that have make their interest known but he suggests that Fabinho may favour a move to Man City.
He’s quoted as saying by the Mirror:
“We have been in talks with Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and approached by Barcelona.
“We like Manchester United and [Jose] Mourinho’s work, but we have a soft spot for Manchester City.”
Fabinho made his name as a right-back but he’s been deployed in a defensive midfield role to great success this season so his versatility is sure to appeal to those clubs vying for his signature.
Arsenal have endured midfield problems again this season and they could certainly do with a player of Fabinho’s quality to provide some much-needed protection to the back four.
United are also in need of a long-term replacement for Michael Carrick and Fabinho could be the ideal foil for Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba in Jose Mourinho’s midfield next season.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming months and I think Fabinho would be an excellent signing for either Arsenal or United, but it looks as though they may face stiff competition from rivals City for his signature this summer.
