Man Utd To Battle Arsenal & Liverpool For £84m-Rated Prolific Hitman
Manchester United will battle it out with the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool over the signing of Tornio’s £84m-rated striker Andrea Belotti this summer
The January transfer window is now closed but we can still look at deals that failed to get across the line and those being lined-up for the summer. Today, more on the future of Andrea Belotti….
Manchester United will battle it out with the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool over the signing of Tornio’s £84m-rated striker Andrea Belotti this summer, according to a report in the Mirror.
Belotti is now regarded as one of the most prolific strikers in European football after scoring 19 goals in 24 games in all competitions for Torino so far this season.
The 23-year-old has understandably attracted interest from several Premier League clubs with Torino’s sporting director Gianluca Petrachi quoted by Sky Sports News as saying last month that they had rejected a €65m (£56m) offer from Arsenal.
Arsene Wenger has seemingly earmarked Belotti as a potential replacement should the Gunners be forced in to selling Alexis Sanchez this summer but they’ll need to up their previous offer if they want to land the Italian international.
The north Londoners will also have to fight off fierce competition as the Mirror are citing a report from Transfer Market Web that claims Manchester United have joined the likes of Liverpool in the race for his signature.
Jose Mourinho knows he needs to bring in a long-term replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic as although the Swedish sensational is still in superb form, he’s approaching his 36th birthday and Belotti appears to be on United’s radar.
Jurgen Klopp is also understood to be tracking the striker as the Liverpool boss draws-up possible replacements for Daniel Sturridge – who’s fallen out-of-favour at Anfield in recent months.
Belotti would be an excellent signing for any of the English trio, however, the Mirror claim that the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Roma are interested so they’ll also face stiff competition from the continent.
And the hitman’s price-tag could also be a major problem as the newspaper says that Torino are demanding the full value of Belotti’s £84m buyout fee if they’re to cash-in this summer.

Arsenal and Liverpool will struggle to meet that figure but United are one of the few clubs who could afford that sort of money so the Red Devils could be regarded as favourites if they decide to make their interest formal over the coming months.
