Arsenal & Spurs Handed Boost As Ligue 1 Star Admits He’d Consider Move

Arsenal and Tottenham have been tipped to revive their interest in Adrien Rabiot after he admitted he’d consider a move away from Paris Saint-Germain.

The January transfer window is now closed but we can still look at deals that failed to get across the line and those being lined-up for the summer. Today, Adrien Rabiot fuels speculation he could leave PSG….

Arsenal and Tottenham have been tipped to revive their interest in Adrien Rabiot after he admitted he’d consider a move away from Paris Saint-Germain.

Rabiot joined the PSG youth ranks in 2010 and has developed in to one of the most highly-rated young midfielders in European football since breaking in to their first team in 2012.

The 21-year-old has long been linked with a move to the Premier League with Arsenal and Spurs among those who’ve been strongly touted as potential suitors in previous transfer windows.

So far, Rabiot has remained at the Parc des Princes, despite the fact he’s failed to establish himself as a first team regular with the youngster making just 13 Ligue 1 starts this season.

It looks like the north London pair have now been placed on red alert after Rabiot admitted that he would consider a move away from PSG if a tempting offer from another big club came his way.

The midfielder is quoted as saying by the Mirror:

“I am under contract until 2019 and I do not think that I am in a rush.

“If there are offers from big clubs, that obviously demands that they are considered.

“Clubs like Real Madrid, they are great clubs but, truly, the most important thing is the present and I am concentrating on what I am doing right now, that is the best thing to do.”

The Mirror claim that Tottenham could now revive their interest having seen an approach for the French youth international turned down two years ago.

Mauricio Pochettino is building a fine young squad at White Hart Lane and a player of Rabiot’s quality would offer him another top class option to compete with the likes of Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama.

However, the Daily Mail say that Rabiot’s comments will be of interest to Arsenal and suggest that the Gunners could also go back in for the midfielder this summer.

Central midfield has been an area of concern for Arsenal this season with Santi Cazorla ruled out with an Achilles injury, Aaron Ramsey has endured a disappointing campaign while the long-term future of Jack Wilshere is also in doubt.

Rabiot could be the holding midfielder that Arsene Wenger needs to protect his defence but it looks as though the Gunners could face stiff competition from their north London rivals if they do decide to step-up their interest in the Frenchman.
