Arsenal Team News: Wenger Confirms Triple Injury Boost Ahead Of Liverpool
Arsene Wenger has confirmed a triple injury boost ahead of Arsenal’s crucial Premier League clash with Liverpool this weekend.
Arsenal will look to cement their position in the top four of the Premier League table when they take on Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday evening.
Ahead of the game, Arsene Wenger has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this morning and he’s given reporters a team news and injury update.
The Gunners boss appeared confident that Mesut Ozil would be ready for the trip to Merseyside this weekend despite going down with a bout of flu this week.
Ozil remains a slight doubt for the game after being sent home from training on Wednesday with the flu but Wenger says his playmaker ‘should be OK’ to face Liverpool on Saturday evening.
There was also positive news for Arsenal on Aaron Ramsey as the midfielder is back in contention after returning to full training following a month out with a calf injury.
Ramsey suffered the problem against Watford at the end of January and has missed Arsenal’s last four games but he’s back in full training and will be in the squad this weekend.
In a triple boost, Wenger also confirmed that Laurent Koscielny is training again after recovering from a hamstring injury that he picked up against Bayern Munich last month.
The French international was forced to miss the Gunners FA Cup win at Sutton United almost two weeks ago but he’s back in full training and in contention to start against Liverpool.
Wenger is quoted as saying by Football London:
“We have back in the squad Aaron Ramsey, he is back in full training and Laurent Koscielny that we lost at Bayern Munich as well. They are both back in full training.”
“We will see [on Ozil], I don’t know but he should be okay.”
It will come as a huge boost for Arsenal if Ozil is passed fit as despite his poor form of late, he’s still one of their most important players while Koscielny’s availability will also come as a big relief to Wenger.
Ramsey’s return to fitness is also well-timed as Arsenal will be without Mohamed Elneny after he was ruled out for around three weeks with an ankle injury while Santi Cazorla is expected to miss the rest of the season.
Arsenal head to Anfield just one point above Liverpool in the table so it’s expected to be a closely fought game but its always difficult to predict matches in the Premier League and that’s where Odinbet comes in….
