Arsenal Plotting Big-Money Bids For Chelsea & Man Utd Targets
Arsenal are plotting a double swoop on Celtic for Chelsea and Manchester United targets Moussa Dembele and Kieran Tierney, according to reports
The January transfer window is now closed but we can still look at deals that failed to get across the line and those being lined-up for the summer. Today, Arsenal are linked with two Celtic players….
Arsenal are plotting a double swoop on Celtic for Chelsea and Manchester United targets Moussa Dembele and Kieran Tierney this summer, according to the Express.
Arsene Wenger’s future at the Emirates is in serious doubt as he’s approaching the end of his contract and a growing number of fans are calling for the Frenchman to end his long association with the club.
However, it appears the Frenchman is still making plans for next season with a new striker seemingly on the agenda amid on-going concerns Alexis Sanchez could leave this summer.
The Chilean international is approaching the final 12 months of his contract and Arsenal have so far been unable to find an agreement over an extension while Sanchez was recently dropped at Anfield following a reported training ground bust-up.
If the Gunners do end up cashing-in then they’ll be in the market for another striker and the Express claim the north Londoners have identified Dembele as a prime target after sending scouts to watch him on several occasions.
The newspaper says that Celtic are aware of Arsenal’s interest and are expecting bids to come in this summer for their superstar forward – who’s scored 32 goals in all competitions this season.
However, the Gunners won’t be the only club in the running as the Express claim that Chelsea are set to renew their interest in Dembele after seeing an approach for the £40m-rated hitman rejected in January.
Antonio Conte is expected to be in the market for another striker with Michy Batshuayi tipped to leave following a frustrating campaign and Dembele is seemingly firmly on the Italians radar.
So it looks as though Arsenal are on course to do-battle with Chelsea over the signing of Dembele and they could also face stiff competition in their pursuit for Celtic team mate Tierney.
The Express say that the Gunners have identified the 19-year-old as a potential long-term replacement for 31-year-old Nacho Monreal while Kieran Gibbs is also being tipped to leave after failing to hold down a first team place.
The report suggests that Arsenal are plotting a move for Tierney at the end of the season but will have to fend off competition from Man Utd with Jose Mourinho also a big fan of the left-back.
With Luke Shaw’s future at Old Trafford in serious doubt, Mourinho is likely to bring in a new left-back this summer and Tierney would be an exciting replacement if United could win the race for his signature.

It’s going to be interesting to see how things develop over the coming months but I think Dembele and Tierney would be excellent signings for any of the three clubs being linked with the Celtic duo this summer.
