The draw for the semi-finals of the Europa League was conducted this afternoon and Manchester United have been drawn to face Celta Vigo.
The Red Devils were made to sweat over their place in the last four after being taken to extra-time by Anderlecht in their quarter-final at Old Trafford last night.
Following a 1-1 draw in Belgium last week, Marcus Rashford was the hero as he struck in the 107th minute to secure a 3-2 aggregate victory after the game had finished 1-1 inside the 90 minutes.
Jose Mourinho’s men will now take on La Liga side Celta Vigo for a place in the final after they beat Genk 4-3 on aggregate in the quarter finals.
United will play the first leg away from home on May 4th before welcoming the Spaniard’s to Old Trafford for the decisive second leg on the 11th.
In the other draw, Dutch giants Ajax will take on French outfit Lyon and United will be hoping to meet one of them in the final in Stockholm later next month.
Obviously Celta Vigo will be a tricky test for United but it’s arguably the best draw they could have got so Mourinho will be confident of booking their place in the final.
