Man City Boss Confirms Key Man Could Miss Man Utd Clash But Duo Passed Fit
Pep Guardiola has confirmed a major injury blow ahead of Manchester City’s clash with Manchester United but two other players have been passed fit.
Manchester City will look to cement their position in the top four when they take on Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium tomorrow night.
Ahead of the game, Pep Guardiola has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s offered a team news and injury update.
The City boss has revealed that David Silva is a major doubt for the game tomorrow night after suffering a hamstring injury during Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final defeat to Arsenal.
Silva was forced off in the first half at Wembley after being caught in the back of his leg by Gabriel and now it seems the playmaker is facing a race against time to be fit to face United.
However, there was better news regarding the fitness of Sergio Aguero as Guardiola says the striker is fit and available for selection despite picking up a knock at the weekend.
Aguero was substituted in extra-time against Arsenal on Sunday after sustaining a muscle problem but the Argentinean international will be available to face United on Thursday evening.
In a double boost, Guardiola also says Gabriel Jesus is ready to return to action but the Brazilian international isn’t expected to start tomorrow as the City boss suggests he’s not yet 100% match fit following several weeks on the sidelines with a foot injury.

City head in to the game sitting fourth in the table but with United just just one point behind, tomorrow night’s game will have a major say in who qualifies for the Champions League next season.
