Arsenal have beaten off competition from the likes of Chelsea and Man City to sign Sead Kolasinac with the full-back agreeing a free transfer move to north London on a four-year deal, according to the Mirror.
Kolasinac’s contract with Schalke is due to expire at the end of June and he’s been free to hold talks with other foreign clubs since January after failing to agree terms over an extension.
The 23-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League with the Mirror claiming that Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City and Everton have all shown a keen interest in bringing him to England.
Blues boss Antonio Conte is in the market for a new left-sided defender to compete with Marcos Alonso while Pep Guardiola also needs to strengthen his options in defence and Kolasinac was on the radar of both clubs.
However, it appears the Gunners have now won the race for his signature as the Mirror follow Sky Sports in reporting that Kolasinac has now agreed a switch to the Emirates this summer.
The left-back had no shortage of offers but the newspaper says the Bosnian international has agreed terms over a four-year deal and will officially be unveiled as an Arsenal player on July 1st.
Arsene Wenger is still making plans for next season despite doubts over his own future in north London but Kolasinac’s arrival must surely be another signal that the Frenchman will be staying on for at least another year.
Kolasinac has developed in to one of the best full-backs in the Bundesliga in recent years so he’ll be an excellent signing for Arsenal – especially given the north Londoners are getting him on a free transfer.
The Bosnian’s arrival is expected to see Kieran Gibbs – who’s got one year left on his contract – find a new club with the 27-year-old needing to secure regular football having failed to nail down a place at Arsenal.

Nacho Monreal has also been linked with a move back to Spain but if Gibbs leaves then I expect he’ll stay at the Emirates as Kolasinac’s understudy next season.
