Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are among the clubs showing a keen interest in Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland ahead of the summer transfer window, according to the Mirror.
Butland made his name at Birmingham City having progressed through their youth ranks and has developed in to one of the best young keepers in Europe since joining Stoke in January 2013.
The 24-year-old established himself as Mark Hughes’ first choice and broke in to the England national team set-up before being ruled out for the past year with a serious ankle injury.
Butland made his return to action last month and is now being lined-up for a move to one of the Premier League’s big boys with the Mirror claiming that Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd are among those keeping a close eye on his situation.
Arsene Wenger recently suggested he wasn’t in the market for a new goalkeeper but that could change with David Ospina expected to leave the Emirates this summer while Wojciech Szczęsny’s future is yet to be resolved following a season out on loan at Roma.
Szczęsny is unlikely to stay at Arsenal to be second choice behind Petr Cech so if the Polish international follows Ospina out the exit door then Arsenal will need to find a new keeper and it appears Butland is on Wenger’s radar.
United are also expected to be in the market for a new number one this summer with David De Gea strongly tipped to finally join Real Madrid and the Mirror claim Butland is on Jose Mourinho’s wish list along with Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak.
Chelsea’s goalkeeping situation is also up in the air as Asmir Begovic is set to leave in search of regular action while Thibaut Courtois is also being linked with a move to Madrid if they fail to land De Gea.
The Blues have a long standing interest in Butland with the report suggesting Chelsea attempted to sign the England stopper when he left Birmingham so they could now renew their interest this summer.
It’s going to be an interesting few months ahead but I hope Butland doesn’t join one of the big boys just to sit on the bench as he’s far too talented to be an understudy at this stage of his career.

I’m sure Stoke will do all they can to keep hold of him and they are under no pressure to sell as his contract runs until 2021 but the Potters may not be able to resist if the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea or United come calling with big offers.
