Man Utd Hold Talks With Agents Over Signing Want-Away Arsenal Star
Manchester United have held talks with intermediary agents over the signing of Alexis Sanchez but the Arsenal star still favours a move to Manchester City
Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the final days of the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd are linked with Alexis Sanchez…
Manchester United have held talks with intermediary agents over the signing of Alexis Sanchez but the Arsenal star still favours a move to Manchester City, according to the Independent.
Sanchez’s future at the Emirates has been the subject of much debate all summer as he’s in the final year of his current contract and is refusing to sign an extension.
City have been strongly linked with a move for the Chilean super star and the Guardian were one of several media outlets to report this morning that the Citzens were in talks with Arsenal over a possible player-plus-cash swap deal.
The Independent claim that City are keen to secure a cash-only purchase and have so far rebuffed any attempts by Arsenal to have Raheem Sterling or Sergio Aguero included in any deal.
But the renewed contact between the two clubs has been ignited after Sanchez made it clear to Arsenal that he wants to leave the club in this window having previously indicated he was happy to see-out the final year of his contract.
This sudden urge to leave seems to have now alerted Man Utd as the Independent claim they have held talks via intermediary agents about the possibility of taking Sanchez to Old Trafford.
Jose Mourinho has been in the market for another attacker this summer and the newspaper says he’s keen to sign the 28-year-old after struggling to agree a deal with Inter Milan for Ivan Perisic.
However, it seems United will have some persuading to do as the Independent claim Sanchez still favours a move to City as he wants to link-up with Pep Guardiola having played under him at Barcelona.

It’s certainly an interesting situation and I’m sure United won’t give up without a fight if Arsenal do decide to cash-in on Alexis before the window closes, but for now it looks like City are in pole position.
