Manchester United will look to maintain their excellent start to the new season when they take on Southampton at St Mary’s on Saturday afternoon.
Here is the team I think Jose Mourinho will pick for the game:
Goalkeeper: David De Gea was given a well-earned breather in midweek so the United number one is expected to come back in for Sergio Romero this weekend.
Defence: We should see wholesale changes at the back with Eric Bailly and Phil Jones set for recalls in place of Victor Lindelof and Chris Smalling in the middle of defence.
Antonio Valencia should also come back in for Matteo Darmian at right-back while Ashley Young is expected to return at left-back in place of Daley Blind after impressing in recent games.
Midfield: Paul Pogba continues to miss out with a hamstring injury so we should see Nemanja Matic and Marouane Fellaini recalled in midfield after being rested for the League Cup clash.
Michael Carrick and Ander Herrera impressed during the win over Burton Albion at Old Trafford but they are still expected to make way on Saturday.
Attack: Romelu Lukaku is almost certain to be recalled up front as the Belgian international will be desperate to get back among the goals after being rested on Wednesday night.
Marcus Rashford took his chance through the middle after scoring twice against Burton so he could retain his place in attack – although he will have to move out to the wing.
Juan Mata is expected to keep his place while Henrikh Mkhitaryan should get recalled so we could see Anthony Martial drop back to the bench despite picking up the Man of the Match award in midweek.
Here is how we think United will line-up:
