Arsenal are closing-in on the £45m signing of Malcom after discussing personal terms with the Bordeaux attacker over the weekend, according to the Guardian.
Alexis Sanchez is on the verge of leaving the club with Manchester United now reportedly favourites ahead of Manchester City to sign the want-away Chilean international.
His exit will leave a huge void needing to be filled and Malcom has emerged as Arsene Wenger’s prime target in recent days with widespread reports suggesting we’re pushing to secure a transfer.
It looks like a move is close as the Guardian are now reporting that Arsenal chiefs met with Malcom’s representatives in France on Sunday to discuss personal terms.
Arsene Wenger gave little away when quizzed about his interest in Malcom after yesterday’s defeat at Bournemouth but the newspaper says a deal is on the cards and we’re expected to pay Bordeaux £45m for his signature.
Malcom has developed in to one of the most exciting young talents in French football since joining Bordeaux two years ago and he’s pushing to be in the Brazil squad for this summer’s World Cup finals.
The 20-year-old has scored seven goals and provided four assists in his 17 Ligue 1 games so far this season and while he’s predominantly a right winger, he’s capable of playing anywhere across the attacking midfield positions.

The South American would be an excellent long-term addition to the squad but the worry is Malcom will need time to adjust to life in England and he has some big boots to fill if he does replace Sanchez this month.
