Mohamed Salah’s stunning solo goal was not enough as Harry Kane’s last gasp penalty sealed a dramatic 2-2 draw between Liverpool and Tottenham at Anfield
Mohamed Salah’s stunning solo goal was not enough as Harry Kane’s last gasp penalty sealed a dramatic 2-2 draw between Liverpool and Tottenham at Anfield this evening.
Liverpool opened the scoring early on as Salah raced on to a sloppy pass from Eric Dier to fire in to Hugo Lloris’s bottom corner for 1-0 in the 3rd minute.
Tottenham levelled things up thanks to a thumping strike from Victor Wanyama as the Kenyan international came off the bench to fire home a stunning effort from 25-yards in the 80th minute.
Spurs then had the chance to go ahead when Kane was adjudged to have been fouled by Loris Karius in the 85th minute, however, the Tottenham striker saw the resulting spot kick saved.
Liverpool looked to have won it in the first minute of stoppage time as Salah jinked his way through the Tottenham defence to score a sensational solo goal to make it 2-1 in the 91st minute.
However, there was late drama as Spurs were awarded another penalty in the 94th minute after Virgil Van Dijk clipped Erik Lamela. This time Kane made no mistake as he converted from the spot to make it 2-2.
