Chelsea Team News: Blues Blow As Conte Confirms Trio Will Miss Man Utd Trip
Antonio Conte has confirmed three players will miss Chelsea’s huge Premier League clash with Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.
Chelsea will be looking to cement their position in the top four with a positive result when they take on Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
Antonio Conte has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s provided a team news and injury update ahead of the game.
The Blues boss has confirmed a triple injury blow with the news that Tiemoue Bakayoko, Ross Barkley and David Luiz will all miss the trip to Manchester this weekend.
Bakayoko missed the 1-1 draw with Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday night due to a knock and while he trained alone at Cobham today, the midfielder isn’t in contention to face United.
Barkley has endured a nightmare campaign as a serious hamstring injury has restricted him to making just three appearances in all competitions and the midfielder remains on the sidelines this weekend.
Luiz has also sat out Chelsea’s last few games due to a knock and Conte says the Brazilian international won’t be available for selection to take on United on Sunday afternoon.
The Chelsea boss told reporters:
Conte reports that David Luiz, Bakayoko and Barkley remain out for Sunday's game. The boss has no other injury worries. #MUNCHE

Chelsea head in to the weekend action sitting fourth in the table but just three points adrift of second-placed United so they could move level on points with Jose Mourinho’s men with a win at Old Trafford on Sunday.
