Key Man Ruled Out As Guardiola Makes 1 Change: Expected Man City XI vs Liverpool

Manchester City will be looking to take home a positive result from the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final with Liverpool at Anfield tomorrow night.

Here is the side I think Pep Guardiola will select for the game:

Goalkeeper: Ederson has been a superb signing for City since arriving last summer so he’ll keep his place with Claudio Bravo on the bench.

Defence: Guardiola has a decision to make at left-back as Fabian Delph is back in contention after recovering from injury but he’s not played since mid-February so may not be considered match fit.

Danilo is on stand-by to come in at left-back if Guardiola doesn’t want to risk Delph so Laporte is set to make way after playing against Everton at the weekend.

Vincent Kompany is expected to start alongside Nicolas Otamendi in the middle of the back four while Kyle Walker will keep his place at right-back.

Midfield: Fernandinho is an important part of the City system so no doubt he’ll once again start in the holding role in front of the back four with Ilkay Gundogan on the bench.

Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva are also expected to start in midfield and Liverpool will know it’s vital to keep hold of the creative duo if they want to get a result.

Attack: City have been dealt a major blow with the news that Sergio Aguero has been ruled out of the trip to Anfield after failing to prove his fitness.

Gabriel Jesus will therefore lead the line up front and the Brazilian international will be looking to build on his goal at Everton on Saturday.

Raheem Sterling continued his superb season by getting himself on target at Goodison Park so he should get a chance to face his former side tomorrow night.

Leroy Sane was also among the goals against Everton at the weekend so the German youngster is favourite to start in attack ahead of Bernado Silva.

Here is how I think we’ll see City line-up:
