Klopp’s Team News Update: Liverpool Could Be Without 6 Players For Everton Trip
Jurgen Klopp has offered a team news update ahead of Liverpool’s trip to Everton and he could be without 6 players for the game
Liverpool will need to put their Champions League exploits to one side when they head to Goodison Park to take on Everton on Saturday lunchtime.
Jurgen Klopp has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and has provided a team news and injury update ahead of the game.
The Reds boss was understandably quizzed for an update on the fitness of Mohamed Salah after the attacker limped off against Manchester City on Wednesday night.
Salah was substituted early in the second half after suffering a groin injury during Liverpool’s stunning 3-0 victory in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie.
The Egyptian international was photographed attending the Spire Hospital in Liverpool on Thursday afternoon where he underwent a scan which showed there to be no serious damage.
Klopp has confirmed that they are doing everything they can to get Salah fit to face Everton but insists he won’t take any risks with the player so he won’t play unless 100% fit.
The Reds boss told Liverpoolfc.com:
“I don’t think it makes sense to talk here about what we do with the boys in rehab. But, of course, you can imagine we have tried everything to make him [Salah] available,”
“[There are] still 24 hours to go pretty much, or 23 hours to go until we start. So let’s see what happens. I cannot make Mo available because it’s the derby, I would never do it. It’s not possible. I don’t think any of our supporters want us to do that.
“If he is a doubt, he will not be involved. That’s how it is with all of them; if they are not 100 per cent fit they cannot be involved.
“If you are available you are involved; if you are not available you’re not involved.”

With a huge second leg at City coming up next week it makes sense for Liverpool not to risk Salah against Everton this weekend so I’d be surprise if he was involved.
Emre Can is expected to miss the trip to Goodison Park with an on-going back injury and the German midfielder is facing a race against time to be fit to take on Man City next week.
Adam Lallana is also ruled out for at least another two weeks with a hamstring injury while Joel Matip won’t play again this season after picking up a serious thigh problem last weekend.
With Joe Gomez and Ragnar Klavan also on the sidelines, it means Liverpool will be without six first team squad players for the trip to Everton if Salah is ruled out.
