Arsenal fans have been poking fun at Jose Mourinho after he hit out at the media and demanded respect following Man Utd’s 3-0 defeat to Tottenham.
Some Arsenal fans have been poking fun at Jose Mourinho after he hit out at the media and demanded respect following Manchester United’s 3-0 defeat to Tottenham.
Mourinho called on his players to respond after last weeks shock 3-2 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion and it initially looked like his rallying call had worked as United were on top during the first half at Old Trafford on Monday night.
However, the hosts were made to pay for missing some excellent chances as Harry Kane headed Tottenham ahead shortly after the break before Lucas Moura bagged a brace to consign United to a 3-0 defeat.
It means Manchester United have lost two of their opening three Premier League games for the first time in 25 years and piles the pressure on Mourinho’s shoulders following a turbulent few weeks.
During a tense post-match press conference, Mourinho insisted his team were unlucky to lose after dominating the first half and demanded more respect after pointing out that he’d won 3 Premier League titles – more than the other 19 managers combined.

Opposition fans and pundits seem to have enjoyed Mourinho’s post-match ‘meltdown’ but Arsenal fans in particular were quick to jump on the Manchester United managers comments.
Some Gooners took to Twitter to claim Mourinho has been waiting years to use that line but had to wait for his old foe, Arsene Wenger, to leave before he could.
Wenger left Arsenal in the summer after winning 3 Premier League titles during his time in North London so only now can Mourinho claim he’s won more titles than the other 19 managers combined.
Some fans, journalists and pundits have also pointed out that Mourinho is talking-up the fact he’s won 3 Premier League titles – the same as Wenger – despite calling the former Arsenal boss a ‘specialist in failure’.
Here is what’s been said on Twitter following Mourinho’s rant:
You just know Mourinho’s been waiting to use that ‘three titles’ line for years but couldn’t until Wenger quit.

Mourinho waited for Wenger to go just so he could say that. https://t.co/WjjRgHEZHe

Mourinho actually waited for Wenger to leave, before going on that three league titles rant.
What a man.

So Mourinho was waiting for Wenger to leave so he can say he’s won 3 titles? Ah man ??

Mourinho had that 3 titles line in his drafts but had to wait for Wenger to leave Arsenal to use it.. pic.twitter.com/jW8x5jJc2I

Mourinho waited way too long for Wenger to leave to be able to drop that 3 premierships line on the press ?

Jose Mourinho: "More Premierships than the rest put together." He's been waiting three years for Wenger to retire so he can whip that one out! #MUNTOT

Mourinho calling about 3 league titles he won and calling for respect. He tried to bully Wenger for that same record.

Mourinho's lost it, frankly. He's never getting back to his 2004 pomp. The game has moved on and he hasn't adapted. Him talking up his three league titles (same as 'specialist in failure' Wenger) smacks of a man living in the past.

Just seen Mourinho’s press conference, whys he talking about the 3 titles he won at Chelsea? Wenger won 3 titles and he called him a specialist in failure ??♂️

Mourinho calls Arsene Wenger who has also won 3 PL titles 'specalist in failure'. But demands respect from media for the same reason. What a hypocrite.

It’s still cracking me up how Mourinho just talked about 3 titles and respect, Same 3 titles Wenger has but was called “Specialist in failure” by him
