Liverpool Handed Major Triple Boost Ahead Of Showdown Against Tottenham

Liverpool have been handed a major triple boost ahead of Saturday’s trip to Tottenham as Alisson, Fabinho and Roberto Firmino are all set to be rested by Brazil, according to reports in Brazil via the Liverpool Echo.
The Reds trio all started during Brazil’s 2-0 victory over the United States last weekend with Alisson and Fabinho completing the whole ninety minutes while Firmino was replaced by Richarlison in the 75th minute.
Alisson has enjoyed an impressive start to life at Liverpool following his move from Roma in the summer and he kept another clean sheet for his country while Fabinho impressed at right-back in place of the injured Fagner.
Firmino also caught the eye after scoring Brazil’s opening goal at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Saturday but it seems the Liverpool stars are now set for a well-earned rest.
The Liverpool Echo are citing reports coming out of Brazil that claim boss Tite will make wholesale changes for the clash with El Salvador in the early hours of Wednesday morning with the Reds trio among those expected to make way.
The newspaper says Neto, Eder Militao and Richarlison will come in to replace Alisson, Fabinho and Firminio as Tite rotates his squad and assesses his options during the friendly with El Salvador.
The news will come as a huge boost to Jurgen Klopp as it means the Liverpool stars will avoid injury and should be well-rested ahead of Saturday lunchtime’s trip to Wembley to take on Tottenham.
The South American’s won’t return to Melwood until after Thursday’s training session so they’ll still need to be assessed by Liverpool’s medical team but there is no reason they won’t all be available for selection if they don’t start for Brazil.
Alisson is certain to keep his place in goal while Firmino should once again lead the line up front and join Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane in attack against Spurs this weekend.
However, Fabinho is yet to make his full debut for Liverpool since arriving from Monaco in the summer as Klopp has decided to ease the defensive midfielder in to Premier League action so he may have to make-do with a place on the bench against Tottenham.
