[Video Goals] Liverpool 4-1 Cardiff City: Mane Hits Brace As Reds Go Clear

Liverpool have moved three points clear at the top of the Premier League table after beating Cardiff City 4-1 at Anfield this afternoon thanks to a brace from Sadio Mane.

The Reds dominated from the outset and opened the scoring in the 9th minute when Mohamed Salah was on hand to fire home from close range to make it 1-0 following a scramble in the Cardiff area.

Liverpool continued to control proceedings and went close to adding to their advantage in the first half but they had to wait until the 66th minute to double their lead as Mane lashed home a left-footed effort to make it 2-0.

Cardiff pulled one back in the 77th minute when Callum Paterson poked home from close range to make it 2-1 but Liverpool soon restored their two-goal advantage when Xhedran Shaqiri cooly slotted in to the bottom corner to make it 3-1 in the 84th minute.

The Merseysiders wrapped-up the victory just minutes later with Mane grabbing his second of the game as he dinked the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper after being sent clear by Salah.

The 4-1 win sends Liverpool three points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table ahead of their trip to Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night.
