Leicester vs Man Utd preview | Injury boost for Utd | Expected XI’s | Prediction
Here is our match preview ahead of Manchester United’s Premier League clash with Leicester including team news, line-ups and prediction
Manchester United will look to maintain the pressure on the top four with a win over Leicester City at the King Power on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Devils saw their impressive winning run come to an end with a 2-2 draw at home to Burnley in midweek which has left them sitting five points behind fourth-placed Chelsea following their win over Huddersfield today.
However, United will still be in good spirits as they scored two late goals to snatch a point on Tuesday night to maintain Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s unbeaten record as caretaker manager so they’ll be hoping to extend that run with a positive result tomorrow.
Leicester will also be in buoyant mood after earning a fully deserved 1-1 draw at league leaders Liverpool on Wednesday night which ended a run of three defeats in their last four league games.
Team news
Man Utd have been boosted by the news that Paul Pogba is fit to start after recovering from a slight knock that he sustained against Burnley while Anthony Martial is also set to return after missing the game in midweek with a minor knock.
Chris Smalling and Eric Bailly are pushing for recalls but Marcos Rojo remains on the sidelines.
Leicester have no fresh injury concerns to worry about so Daniel Amartey is the only long-term absentee. New signing Youri Tielemans should be in the squad but the midfielder is likely to start from the bench.
Expected line-ups
Predicted score
Leicester 1-2 Man Utd: The Foxes have been poor at home lately as they’ve won just one of their last 12 league games at the King Power and Man Utd have won 16 of their last 20 meetings with Leicester. I do think the hosts will give United a tough game tomorrow as they were well organised against Liverpool in midweek but I think the visitors will just edge it.
