[Video Goals] Liverpool 5-0 Watford: Mane scored twice as Reds thrash Watford

Liverpool thrashed Watford 5-0 at Anfield this evening to cement their position at the top of the Premier League table.

Liverpool started brightly and opened the scoring after just ten minutes as Sadio Mane powered home a header from a superb cross from Trent Alexander-Arnold to make it 1-0.

The Reds were rampant and the same two players combined to double the hosts advantage. A superb run from Mohamed Salah down the right led to Alexander-Arnold crossing for Mane who flicked past Ben Foster with a delightful backheel for 2-0 in the 20th minute.

Liverpool continued to dominate and eventually made it 3-0 midway through the second half when Divock Origi cut in from the left and fired in at the near post to seal a comfortable win for the Merseysiders.

The Reds weren’t done as Virgil van Dijk headed home a quick-fire double late on to make it 5-0 and ensure Liverpool remain clear of Manchester City at the top of the table.
