Liverpool are hoping to secure a £13.5m deal to sign Bordeaux attacker Francois Kamano as Jurgen Klopp looks to secure his third signing of the summer, according to CalcioMercato.
Klopp has been quiet in the market so far as the Liverpool boss has only brought in two teenagers with Harvey Elliott following Sepp van den Berg in moving to Anfield after the 16-year-old finalised him switch from Fulham over the weekend.
After winning the Champions League and finishing just one point behind Premier League champions Man City last season, Klopp insists he doesn’t need to spend huge fees to buy established players this summer.
However, the Reds boss has been tipped to dip into the market to buy a versatile attacker during the closing stages of the transfer window as he needs to add some depth in the final third if Liverpool are to cope with the huge number of games they’ll play this season.
It looks like Klopp has identified as a potential target as CalcioMercato claims Liverpool are planning a swoop for Francois Kamano and are hoping to get a £13.5m [€15m] deal agreed with Bordeaux.
Kamano came through the ranks at Bastia after joining the clubs youth system as a child before moving to Bordeaux in 2016 where he’s established himself as a regular with 13 goals and 4 assists in all competitions last season.
The 23-year-old has also netted six times in 31 appearances for the Guinea national team so he’ll know compatriot Naby Keita well if does end up joining the midfielder at Liverpool this summer.
Kamano is predominantly a left winger but he’s comfortable playing anywhere across the front three so he’d give Klopp plenty of options in the final third if he moves to Anfield. Importantly, the youngster may also be content with a squad role at Liverpool as there is very little chance of him being able to oust the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane or Roberto Firmino any time soon.

Klopp may be forced to use Divock Origi and Rhian Brewster during the early games of the season as his key attackers have all returned late to pre-season training so Kamano would be a welcome addition to the Liverpool squad if a deal was to be agreed.
