West Ham vs Man Utd preview | Latest team news | Expected line-up’s | Prediction
This is our match preview ahead of Manchester United’s Premier League clash with West Ham at the London Stadium including team news and line-up’s.
Manchester United can move into the top four with victory over West Ham at the London Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Devils have endured a frustrating start to the new Premier League campaign having dropped points against Wolves, Crystal Palace and Southampton but they can still move level with third-placed Leicester City with victory tomorrow.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side come into the game off the back of consecutive 1-0 wins – the latest against Astana in the Europa League on Thursday night – so the United boss will be hoping to make it three victories on the spin this weekend.
However, the Manchester giants will face a tricky test against a dangerous West Ham side that often reserve their best form for when one of the ‘big 6’ come to town so Solskjaer won’t be taking anything for granted.
Team news
Man Utd will be without Paul Pogba as the Frenchman is still out with an ankle injury while Anthony Martial will also miss the trip to London as he’s still nursing a thigh injury that’s hampered him recently.
Luke Shaw is another notable absentee for United as the left-back remains out with a hamstring issue but Daniel James could return after missing the Astana game with a minor knock.
The likes of David De Gea, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Scott McTominay and Jesse Lingard are expected to be recalled to the starting eleven tomorrow.
As for West Ham, they’re set to recall Aaron Creswell as Arthur Masuaku is suspended but Michail Antonio and Winston Reid remain on the sidelines. Manuel Lanzini will need a late fitness test.
Expected line-ups
Prediction
West Ham 1-1 Man Utd: United have an excellent record against West Ham having lost just two of their last 21 league meetings, however, I think this is going to be a tough test for them. Solskjaer’s side are missing a few key players and haven’t been playing well recently. I can see the Hammers being right up for this game and they’ll fancy their chances of getting something. Man Utd might just edge it might I’m going for a 1-1 draw.
