TRANSFER NEWS: Fabregas Off, Gunners Linked With Midfielder & Defender
Our gossip column continues and today, it seems that we’ve got loads of gossip coming out of the Emirates:
Fabregas, Arsenal to Real Madrid
Well, might be a bit of worthless news from the Daily Mail today, as they are once again suggesting that Arsenal are set to receive a mammoth bid from Real Madrid over the summer transfer window for their captain Cesc Fabregas. Well, we all sorta know that ‘Captain Fab’ wants to move to Barcelona, but well, it definitely won’t stop Real Madrid from making a bid.
The Daily Mail claim that he is ‘is the No 1 target for Real Madrid’ and that Fabregas has been ‘careful not to rule out Madrid’ as a possible future home. Well, that really doesn’t mean that he re-thought the possibilities, but of course Barcelona might not be able to come out with the transfer funding, so who knows?
Willian to replace Nasri
Well, we’ve got another piece from the Daily Mail here and it says that Willian is set to ‘replace’ Nasri in the summer. Kinda strange, because noone’s bid for the Frenchman yet! Well, it says here that:
“Arsene Wenger is optimistic the France international will put pen to paper on a new long-term deal – though certain members of the Arsenal hierarchy feel Nasri will give serious consideration to leaving if one of Europe’s elite clubs come in with a firm offer.”
Phil Jones, Blackburn to Arsenal
This time we shall shift newspapers to The Independent as Phil Jones has expressed his interest in the pending move to Arsenal. The report quotes Jones as saying:
“I think Arsenal play the prettiest football in the Premier League. Obviously money helps. Having more money allows you to play in a certain way, but that’s the beauty of the Premier League – there are so many different styles. You know it’s not easy for Arsenal to go to Stoke and win a game there anymore. It’s not knocking anyone’s style, it’s just the nature of the Premier League and that’s why everyone loves it.”
What do you guys make of that, and do Arsenal fans REALLY want him at the Emirates? I’m pretty sure most are more keen in a more experienced defender, for example Gary Cahill.
What do you guys think of the gossip, write down your thoughts in the comments section below!
