AGENT: “Liverpool Would Be The Perfect Club For Him”
It’s not a British transfer rumour involving Charlie Adam or Connor Wickham discussed in this post, it is instead Real Madrid’s Argentinian midfielder Fernando Gago.
According to ESPN, Fernando Gago’s agent is claiming that Liverpool would be the ‘perfect club’ for the Real Madrid man to continue his career, with him being ousted from the first team by the likes of Ozil, Khedira and another midfielder that the club have just signed, Borussia Dortmund’s (now) former key man Nuri Sahin.
Gago, at the age of 25, is not seen as part of Jose Mourinho’s plans for next season. According to ESPN, Fernando Gago has been talking with his teammates and former Liverpool players Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa about life up in Merseyside.
Gago needs to play and Liverpool would be a perfect club for him, Fernando wants to get back on the pitch and return to the top level and at the moment that is not possible in Madrid
Gago’s Agent told ESPN
And in terms of transfer fee, Liverpool are trying to haggle down Real Madrid’s current valuation of the player of around 16 million pounds to a fee of 10 million pounds. There are several other interested parties, but what I don’t understand is why Liverpool would splash out for another central midfielder following their signing of Sunderland man Jordan Henderson.
Liverpool have Steven Gerrard, Raul Meireles, Lucas Leiva, Jay Spearing, Jordan Henderson and even the potential return of Alberto Aquilani, so this is a confusing move in my eyes.
