Luka Modric: “I Will Hand In A Transfer Request”

Tottenham’s want-a-way midfielder Luka Modric has claimed he will have in a transfer request if the club continue to bloke his move to Chelsea.

Modric reiterated his desire to leave Spurs, as well as slamming Chairman Daniel Levy for his arrogance. The Sun quotes Modric as saying:

“If I have to, I will hand in a transfer request.

“I’m extremely disappointed by the way Levy talked to me. I had a cold welcome to his office and he talked to me arrogantly. He arrogantly let me know that he doesn’t even want to know what I have to say.

“I don’t know what are the reasons for his behaviour but it’s his problem.”

The Daily Mail also quote him as saying:

“Much of what has been printed about my meeting with Mr Levy is incorrect. Mr Levy, realising the importance of our meeting, twisted my words. I now have the right to tell my side of the story.”

“If I have to, I will hand in a transfer request. ”

“I have been a loyal sportsman. I played when injured and sick.

“I came back only a few days after operations. I did it as a professional but also as a man who wants to make his contribution to Spurs.

“Now the time has come to go my own way and I ask them to understand my situation.

“I told him I want to go and the reason is my ambition to play for a club which is challenging for the English title and the European championship.

“I will be 26 soon and I’m convinced it is right for me to take my chance in my career.”
