Liverpool Transfer News: Reds Eye Swoop For Versatile Brazilian
Liverpool are apparently chasing Dynamo Kiev full-back Gerson Magrao. TalkSport reports that the Merseyside outfit have expressed an interest in the 26 year-old Brazilian, who is valued at £5 million.
This fee will be much easier to pay compared to the fees that would be required to sign Newcastle man Jose Enrique or Lyon’s Cissokho, with both clubs demanding fees in the region of 10 million pounds, so Magrao is a much better prospect according to Liverpool officials.
The leftback spot has been a constant problem for Liverpool, with Johnson having to fill in their last season as well as Aurelio towards the end of the campaign. Johnson is predominantly a right back, while Aurelio on the other hand has many injury problems. Signing Magrao would either buy them a quality first choice or simply an experienced back-up for cover.
Magrao is an attacking fullback and one whom can also play out on the left-wing, another thing that Liverpool are considering is his versatility, with him able to play further up the pitch, as his crossing is also considered a particular strength.
