Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has explained why he admitted Dimitar Berbatov could go to PSG earlier last week.
The Scot told a female French journalist in midweek that Berbatov could leave for Paris Saint Germain, but misinterpreted the question he was asked. Rumours this week suggested United had accepted a £18million deal for the Bulgarian who has only a year to run on his current deal.
“I couldn’t understand what she was asking,” said Fergie.
“I thought she was asking about our chances for the season. There’s absolutely no interest or encouragement from us, either.”
