TRANSFER NEWS: Arsenal & Liverpool Battle For £8m Ace
Kenny Dalglish and Arsene Wenger are set to go head-to-head over the signing of Birmingham’s Scott Dann.
Arsenal assistant manager Pat Rice and chief scout Steve Rowley watched Birmingham centre half Scott Dann play in a friendly match against Tottenham on Tuesday and Arsene Wenger is ready to submit a bid as he looks to bolster his defensive options. Dann just one of a number of defenders linked with a move to North London. Wenger has also bee linked with Premiership trio Christopher Samba, Gary Cahill and Phil Jagielka.
Liverpool have identified Dann as the long term successor to Kop legend Jamie Carragher and the Reds are thought to be the 24-year-olds preferred option as he’s a life-long Liverpool fan.
The Brum defender is rated at around £8million and is expected to leave St Andrews following the clubs relegation to the Championship.
