TRANSFER NEWS: Arsenal, Liverpool & Chelsea On Alert As Target Refuses To Sign Contract

Premiership trio Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea are on high alert after the talented Stevan Jovetic refused to commit his future to Italian outfit Fiorentina.

Arsenal made a formal bid for the Montenegrin striker on transfer deadline day and the interest appears to have unsettled the frontman.

“It’s not only Chelsea who want Jovetic, but Arsenal also,” former Fiorentina defender Roberto Galbiati told Italian television station Italia 7.

“Arsenal, on the last day of the summer transfer market, submitted a bid to Fiorentina but the club refused.”

Both Liverpool and Chelsea have been linked with the 21-year old in the past but have failed to follow up their interest in Jovetic. The curly-haired striker missed the whole of last season with a cruciate knee ligament injury, but is looking to get his career back on track.

Despite his obvious talent the forward has been criticised in the past for his lack of goals, with the former Partizan man scoring just 13 in his 72 appearances for the club.
