Arsenal Transfer News: Wenger Dealt Blow In £30m Wonderkid Chase
Real Madrid and Arsenal are set to go toe-to-toe over the signing of Lille star Eden Hazard, according to reports.
Wenger missed out on the Belgian winger in the summer, with the player himself deciding to remain in Ligue 1 for one more season. The Mirror reports that Real Madrid director of football Zinedine Zidane has also put Hazard at the top of his hit-list and told the youngster not to entertain any approach from Arsenal, with Madrid entering the race to sign him.
The Spanish giants are still pondering a move for the 20-year old, and will continue to track the youngster throughout the season and deicide in the summer whether or not to sanction a move for the £30million rated wide man. Madrid’s interest in Hazard will be a bitter blow for Wenger who was hoping to rekindle his interest next summer.
