Arsenal captain Robin van Persie believes Ryo Miyaichi will have a long and successful career ahead of him at the club.
The Japanese star made his Gunners debut last month during the Carling Cup victory over Shrewsbury having spent the second half of last season on-loan at Dutch club Feyenoord.
The forward made an immediate impression in the Eredivisie, with the club’s general manager Eric Guidde describing him as the ‘Japanese Messi.’ Van Persie has joined the likes of Thomas Vermaelen and Theo Walcott who have all been quick to hail his talent.
“I like Ryo so much. I think he is a fantastic guy. If you see how he plays and just look at his body language, everything tells you he is having fun,” the Dutch international said.
“He loves life, loves playing football and is just a good kid. I am 100 percent sure he will have a nice, long career at Arsenal because he has everything in him to be a fans’ favourite.”
