Toure Agent: “Arsenal are interested in him”
By Fab4.
The agent of Barcelona’s Yaya Toure has claimed the Ivory Coast international has a 90% chance of leaving the Nou Camp after not playing enough games this season, and excited Arsenal fans by naming the Gunners as being interested and a possible deal could be struck with Arsene Wenger.
An apparent clause in Toure’s contract has prevented him from playing over 60% of Barca’s games this year, and although he is happy in Spain, his agent maintains there is plenty of interest in his player.
“The player has a 90% chance of leaving Barcelona this summer,” Seljuk said. ”Unfortunately, this season, Toure has not played what he would have liked. I think that this is due to a clause in his contract renewal. He has a major financial bonus if he plays more than 60% of official matches of the season.”
“Toure is the best player in the world in his position. He can play in defence or as an attacking midfielder, which he showed at Monaco, where he played in five different positions in five games,” he added.
“He is happy in Barcelona but I think most clubs in Europe are interested in the services of Yaya Toure. In any case, Arsenal are interested in him and I think we can do something with the club of Arsene Wenger.”
Arsenal have forever been linked with a move for Toure but nothing ever materializes. Perhaps the agent is scheming to get his player a move and using Arsenal as a catalyst to force others into action, as has been done in the past. But a move for Toure would be sensible for both parties in my opinion.
The only problem we may face is Barcelona are likely to want to involve Cesc Fabregas in any deal for Toure. Reports in Spain last night claimed Fabregas had told ‘friends and family’ that he wanted a move to Barca this summer and wanted the deal to be tied up before the World Cup. I’m not even going to discuss the validity of those reports, there complete rubbish, but we all know Barca want Cesc so will no doubt try their luck if we go in for Toure.
I had my say on how we should spend the money IF Cesc did leave this summer, check it out here.
Would Arsenal fans welcome Toure, or is there a better option out there? Please leave your comments below..
