Manchester United have scouted the Juventus attacking midfielder, Miloš Krasić for the past two years, according to the players agent.
This emerges days after Sir Alex Ferguson’s assistant manager Mike Phelan explained that the club are always looking at talented new players to bring to the club while confirming that United were also watching the Sporting Lisbon striker, Ricky van Wolfswinkel.
Krasić has drawn comparisons to another former Manchester United target, Pavel Nedved, who was the subject of an £18 million bid from United club 11 years ago after Sir Alex Ferguson was impressed with the Czech international’s performances in the Euro 2000 competition. Krasić is now approaching the same age that Nedved was when United narrowly missed out on his signature, perhaps a prompt for Sir Alex Ferguson not to suffer Déjà vu.
The players agent, Dejan Joksimovic, said:
“Manchester United have been interested in Krasic for two years. They like the player but no negotiations have taken place.
“Every day Krasic is rumoured to be departing Juventus but, currently, there are no signs of this happening.”
The 26 year-old midfielder joined Juventus in the summer of 2010 for around £13 million from the Russian side, CSKA Moscow. He is noted for his excellent dribbling skills and speed on the ball which he has utilized throughout his deceptively long career since breaking into FK Vojvodina’s first team back in 2001 aged just 16. He has made a career total of 351 appearances, scoring 50 goals for the three clubs he has played for.
The Serbian international would join fellow countryman Nemanja Vidic if he were to join Manchester United, however with a contract running for another three years, Krasić, who celebrates his birthday in the beginning of November will not come cheap.
