‘Every Striker Should Watch How Chicharito Plays’

Rio Ferdinand has lavished praise on Manchester United team-mate Javier Hernandez, insisting the front-man should be a role model to all young up and coming strikers.
Chicharito has proven an instant hit at Old Trafford, hitting 20 goals in all competitions during his first season at the club. And United are clearly impressed with the Mexican’s performances, recently awarding him a new five-year deal in order to ward off interest from Real Madrid.
32-year-old Ferdinand believes the 23-year-old is one of the best strikers around at the moment, mainly due to his off the ball movement leading to his goalscoring opportunites.
“Not a lot of strikers make the runs he does. It’s physically demanding,” Ferdinand told Inside United.
“You have to be really fit to make those movements for 90 minutes.
“If I was a coach I would tell every young striker that he should take note of how Javier plays.
“That is what you have to do if you want to be a top footballer.”
