BREAKING NEWS: Arsenal confirm they have not received any offer for Fabregas
By Fab4.
Sky Sports News have just spoken to an Arsenal spokesperson, who confirmed that the club have not received any official or un-official offer from Barcelona or any other club for captain Cesc Fabregas. They went on to say they have no intention of soliciting any approach for Cesc who is under contract until 2015.
Until now, Arsenal have declined to comment on the speculation that Fabregas has told Arsene Wenger in a meeting yesterday that he wants to leave the Emirates and head home to Barca. Although this statement doesn’t confirm or deny that this meeting took place it does at least show that Barcelona have not yet contacted the club to open talks.
Given that Fabregas has said he wants his future sorted before the World Cup, i hope the Catalans take their time in picking up the phone, and suggest Arsenal let it go to voicemail when they do! Anything to delay transfer proceedings and hopefully the deal doesn’t go through in time for the start of the World Cup.
I don’t take any notice of the ‘no intention’ to listen to any offers part as that’s just something they have to say whether it’s true or not. It’s not as if Arsenal are going to come out and say ‘yeah Fabregas wants out….give us your best offer’ now is it?! Hopefully this is the start of Arsenal playing hard-ball with Barcelona and not simply rolling over like usual.
More to follow as this transfer saga evolves……
