Arsenal To Sell £40m Worth Of Talent To Serie A Giants?
At the beginning of the month the ‘Walcott to Juventus?’ rumour gained a lot of pace as the forward has been quiet over negotiations over a new contract with Arsenal, given his current deal expires in June 2013; the England winger was allegedly scouted at the international game away in Montenegro, where he assisted the opening goal.
Juve are looking to replace retiring legend Alessandro Del Piero up front and are apparently keen to cash in on Theo’s discontent at playing on the flank, and reportedly value to speedster at around £22m.
talkSPORT published a rumour recently that Luca Toni may come the other way but this is unlikely beyond all comprehension. Thus far, Arsenal’s number 14 has only said that:
“I will listen to what Arsenal have to say. Hopefully we will sit down with the club soon and talk things over.”
Even more bizarrely, recently there has been a lot of talk that he may actually be on his way to Barcelona of all clubs, as cover for long-term injury Ibrahim Afellay and new signing Chilean Alexis Sanchez.
Welsh captain Aaron Ramsey has also been touted for a big money move abroad with Inter Milan apparently interested in securing his services. Ramsey, valued at close to £18 million, has almost six years left on his contract and so would be easy to retain, but if suggestions that Argentine midfielder Ricky Alvarez might be used as a make-weight are true Arsenal might be interested having tried to sign him over the summer.
