Manchester City chief Patrick Vieira has confirmed the clubs interest in signing highly rated Rennes midfielder Yann M’Vila.
The France international midfielder has been strongly linked with Arsenal and Manchester United in recent months, with both clubs thought to be lining up January bids. Reports suggested the Gunners had a bid turned down for M’Vila in the summer with Arsene Wenger believed to have sanctioned a record £20m bid.
However, a move never materialised and Vieira has now told the French media City are also keen on the youngster. When quizzed about City’s interest in M’Villa, Vieira replied:
“I am sure that City are not the only club interested in him,” Vieira told Canal Plus.
