Several Premier League clubs have been alerted with the news that highly rated Rennes midfielder Yann M’Villa will be sold in the summer.
M’Villa has attracted interest from all over Europe with Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd all being linked with the defensive midfielder. The 21-year-old is known for his no-nonsense style, is a tough tackler in the middle of the park and has the physique needed to be a real success in England.
Rennes sporting director, Jean-Francois Creachcadec, has revealed that the club will be willing to sell their prized asset next summer, while also confirming they received a ‘good offer from England’ towards the end of the summer window.
‘In summer we are ready to listen to interesting offers,’ he told TuttoMercatoWeb.
‘He is a player of very high technical value and, therefore, also of very high economic value.
‘In late summer, we received a good offer from England, but it was too late.
‘[A transfer to] Italy? No team can afford him.’
The bid in question is thought to have come from Arsenal, with Arsene Wenger confirming he’s a huge admirer of the player and several reports claimed the Gunners had submitted a £22m offer for M’Villa on transfer deadline day.
The news that Rennes will be prepared to do business next summer will have alerted Arsenal, as well as Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd who are all monitoring the Frenchman. However, it’s thought it will take a bid of over £25m to land the star.
