Eden Hazard has put a host of Premier League clubs on red alert after revealing he is looking to move to the Premier League in the summer, according to talkSPORT.
The report claims that Chelsea, Arsenal, Man United, Man City, Liverpool and Spurs have all been linked with the sought after Belgian, and they have been boosted with the news that the Lille star wants to play for a “big club” in England next season.
However, the 21-year-old won’t reveal what club he has his eye on but claims a vital factor for him is being able to play week-in week-out, as he doesn’t want to sit on the bench. The playmaker also want’s to play for a club that plays attractive football.
Here’s what Hazard is quoted as saying on talkSPORT:
“After thinking about it, I’m leaning towards England,” he told Canal+. “It’s a style of play that suits me and it’s there that you can learn the most.”
“I want to play for a big club, but also one where I will play every week. I’ve played more than 100 games in Ligue 1 so I would prefer to go abroad. I want to discover something new and playing abroad is a conscious decision.”
Hazard conceded that there a host of clubs which would interest him in the Premier League but insisted: “Nothing has been decided yet.
“I want to play at a big club, but I don’t want to sit on the bench. It needs to be a club that plays good football.”
If Hazard came to England in the summer it would be excellent news for the Premier League. He’s one of the worlds hottest properties and it would be a real coup if one of the top clubs here could keep him away from Spain’s big two.
Hazard will command a huge transfer fee so that will immediately put Man City at the head of the queue, but can they offer his guaranteed first-team football? Arsenal and Tottenham may struggle to find the money required to land Hazard, but Chelsea will have no problems in that area so they may be the early favourites in some people’s eyes.
It’s going to be an interesting summer transfer scramble, that’s for sure.
