Liverpool are lining up a summer move for Swedish international Rasmus Elm, according to the Daily Mirror.
The report claims that Liverpool sent chief scout Steve Hitchen to run-the-rule over the 24-year-old midfielder and compile a dossier on the player for manager Kenny Dalglish.
The interest in Elm is believed to have been initiated by former director of football Damien Comolli, and despite the Frenchman being relieved of his duties at Anfield, Liverpool’s interest in the player remains.
Elm has netted an impressive 12 goals so far this season for AZ Alkmaar – the kind of return Kenny Dalglish could have done with this this season, with his top scoring midfielder currently on just 5 goals – and the Mirror claim he could be available for as little as £7m.
